"Heavenly Angels"

In Memory of my Father - a Spiritual connection to those that have passed before me.

This picture was taken one day as I was meditating on my back porch. As I opened my eyes, I looked up and saw the above cloud formation; I named "Heavenly Angels". God Bless!!

I just realized the date (11/13) - My 48th Birthday - WOW!! What a spiritual connection - Amazing!!

My Integral Health

I wish you all the best of luck -
It's been a pleasure working with all of you!
I - Introduction:
There are several benefits to developing one’s physical, spiritual and psychological well-being.  Health and wellness professional can better treat patients if these areas are developed as well as providing health professionals with a balanced life; reducing stress and anxiety. Other benefits include looking and feeling great which can lead to psychological benefits of increased self-esteem, self-control, determination and a sense of direction.  By practicing spiritual wellness, professional can be alert to patients signs of spiritual distress which can affect their capabilities and quality of life.  It is important for health and wellness professionals to be knowledgeable about the mind-body-spirit connection because it allows them to connect with their patients on all three levels.
I continue to develop all areas of my psychological, spiritual and physical well-being to feel the sense of complete wholeness and happiest.
II - Assessment:
I have grown and learned a lot about myself during this term and will continue my journey to wholeness.  On a scale from 1 to 10, I would score my personal wellness at the end of this term as: Psychologically – 8; physically – 8; spiritually – 6.
III - Goal Development:
To continue to develop my physical, spiritual, and psychological goals, I will commit myself to following. Physically, I will continue to lose weight by eating healthy, increasing cardio and focusing on toning my body through weight training and yoga. Spiritually, I will locate a church I am comfortable with, as well as continue practicing daily meditation and prayer. Psychologically, I will continue to learn more about the mind, body, spirit through reading and learning about myself.  I will also try to stay more positive and remove negativity in my life (easier said than done sometimes). To assist in implementing these goals into my life, I will continue to exercise, meditate, listen to my inner conscious and attending church as well as add new activities such as yoga.
IV - Practices for Personal Health:
In order to continue to grow in each of the following domains; Physical, Psychological, and Spiritual, I will implement the following strategies.  Physical strategies will include meeting with a personal trainer 3 times a week, doing cardio 5-6 times a week for 45 minutes and on days I don’t meet with my trainer, I will look for a workout partner. I will also start implementing yoga on Sunday. Psychologically, I will continue to challenge myself and increase my awareness to improve myself and stay positive.  I enjoy visualization practices; I find them to be very relaxing both mentally and physically. I also enjoy reading self-help books.  Spiritually, I will continue to meditate and pray daily, as well as practice patience and continue to help others - which I find very beneficial to my inner happiness and spirit.
V - Commitment:
In order to staying committed, I will journal daily to keep track of my progress and accomplishments. I will also re-evaluate my progress every two months or when I feel I need to stay challenged and inspired.  I believe it is very important to be involved and committed in your own health and wellness.

  1. I agree that we have really learned a lot about ourselves and how to assist others with learning and caring for themselves. I wish I lived near you because I would like to be your workout partner. I have to do the same in finding someone who will be there to encourage and sometimes physically make me follow with my commitment to myself. I have been taking more time out to meditate and relax more than I was before this class. So I guess you can say that I have made some amount of progress. I have to also begin journaling my progress and staying on top of myself as though I were my own client. I guess I will have to make me my number one project and see where it goes from there.

  2. Great final project! I think we have learned more about ourselves in this term. The more we know about ourself the more we can help others! I wish you the best of luck in your exercise goals. I hope you can maintian the energy and effort for the duration. I will be doing the same so I will keep positive thoughts for the both of us:-) I also agree that journaling is the best way to gauge our progress. I have used this method in the past and it is amazing how much we can grow! Best of luck.

  3. I really enjoyed reading your final project and I too have learned so much in this class. It came at a very critical time in my life and at a time when I needed to face many things. The class has also been instrumental in giving me renewed hope for my own life and my family. I am going to be journaling as well. I think it will be extremely beneficial in keeping track. I was really impressed by all the programs and practices you have in place to continue to grow after class. I never thought of getting a personal trainer. That is definitely a good idea.

I wish you the best of luck in all your endeavors and have really enjoyed working with everyone as well.

  4. Having/finding a workout partner to keep you on track with the physical goals is a great strategy. So often we find ourselves more willing to do what we might not want to do, simply because we feel accountable to the other person. If someone else is counting on us, we're more likely to keep up the hard work.
